Luna is an app where teens can ask questions, learn about topics tailored to them, plus journal and track their moods and cycles. It is the world’s first AI-driven digital health companion for teens, supporting them throughout adolescence. Their vision is to be the global teen brand of choice for all ‘first experiences’ and the go to place for all teen health data and insights. The luna app is just the first market entry point into this. The company was founded in September 2021 by Jas Schembri and Jo Goodall and is based in London, making it Joanna Invests' first investment outside of the Netherlands.
Girls aged 11-18 are facing significant mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and stress, with detrimental effects on their overall well-being. Pressures from social media, societal expectations, and online harassment contribute to feelings of inadequacy, fear, and insecurity. There are 2.5 million girls in the UK and 600 million in the world, yet education systems worldwide fail to support them properly. 86% of teens use TikTok or Dr Google as their primary source of health information and support. luna aims to address these problems by offering a holistic health and wellbeing platform focussed on teens aged 10 to 18. They are a safe platform that can be trusted by parents.
Joanna Invests invested in luna in July 2024. The investment is part of the portfolio of the package deal investors and a Community deal.
